GIFT WEEK - day 2

New dawn fades, and we are ready for day 2 in our gift week.
Yesterdays video-gift was long on the way since YouTube and Vimeo refused to upload high quality mov.-files. Finally we managed to overrule the laws of nature and get the video out in the open!

Day 2 presents the track “Angst i biler” (eng.: “Anxiety in cars”), known from the unplugged video we did in August ’08, in its original electronic form. This is a live-recording from Trinitatis Church in Copenhagen, Denmark, on March 31st – it was our opening song at the gig.
The sound on this recording is rather “bread and scrape” since we did the recording with only two tracks. But the idea of this gift is to present “Angst i biler” in its original form in the best suitable place for it: a grand church.

GIFT WEEK - day 1

Today we start our gift week on the Epicentre blogs and community networks and websites.
Every day throughout this week, we will give you a gift; it’s our way of presenting new material and old material reformed – and our way of saying a million thanks to all of our listeners and all the people who have supported us and come to our concerts. We love you! :)

Here on day 1 we are proud to give you a new video of a new song called “Små Partikler” (in English: “Minor Particles”) in an unplugged version for acoustic guitar, double bass and vocals. The original version of the song is tech-like fast and groovy pop – this unplugged version was just a fast idea we had one day when the weather was sunny and we we’re feeling all right!

Epicentre - Små Partikler, unplugged from Epicentre on Vimeo.

You can download the video

insomnia, ver. 10

data everywhere, thoughts scattered on the table, concerns about something in a couple of weeks. orderdisorder & checking mindless internet timewasting bullshit. at this point in the evening/night it strikes and suddenly inspiration and broadness of mind increase, and I find myself not printing anything through, not connecting any loose ends.
going to see murcof next friday - that'll be nice.

thinking about sleeping. not going to. not yet, not now. looking forward to getting those videos done and a lot of other things also.

the tour is halfway. also, we have some new stuff coming...

hi,

this blog is on of the least updated on blogspot, i think - it will get better, we promise.

our winter/spring tour is halfway now, a little more actually. next stop is tomorrow at Vanløse Kulturhus (at 8 pm). this concert will feature Christian Feldfoss as our sound engineer - Christian Feldfoss normally works and travels with Efterklang on their tours, so we are very honoured to have him with us.
this concert will hopefully be recorded (with a little luck).

these are pictures for you; some are from our tour, some are from some recordings we did saturday - we shot two new videos that day presenting a new and an old song in weird versions. stay tuned.

good times

a lot of good things happened in feburary.

when malte came home from switzerland, we rehearsed like hell to get ready for our mini-tour in the middle of Feburary with 3 concerts in Jutland.
that tour-week was simply incredible - we became a rutine-based touring band for the first time ever. it was fantastic to experience the calmness, coolness and casualness (is that even a word?) of my fellow bandcolleauges. they were amazing and played AMAZING on stage. we pulled of three mindblowing concerts - a listeners-based concert at Klejtrup Efterskole and to massive, rave-like concerts in Århus and Silkeborg, receiving great support from the audiences... wow. thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you all.

furthermore, esben played a great debut-gig with his soloproject in Århus in Feburary, emil and his brother has been chosen for a danish "carreer-competition" called "Karriere Kanonen", and i'm composing the score for a fabulous short film made by tilde juul, malte has returned from switzerland and andreas and christine are not far from graduating. wow.

a lot of good things happened, and a lot of good things are to come.
our next concerts is at Femmøller Efterskole and the Trinitatis Church in Copenhagen - the church-gig will be extra interesting, because of the special acoustics a large stonechurche gives. we will play some of our songs a little differently.

thank you.
